English Language to Share Our Different

Project “English Language to Share Our Different Cultures” was created to raise our students’ awareness of the importance of understanding and appreciating the cultural diversity of their classmates/project friends and developing language skills. This project is a collection of European different cultures with presentations on schools, typical week at school, cities, food, prices, film reviews, postcards made by students, accompanied with a text in English for a universal purpose.

Пројекат “English Language to Share Our Different Cultures” трајао је од септембра 2018. до јуна 2019. Посвећен је сагледавању културних сличности и разлика земаља учесница (Србија, Француска, Хрватска, Турска, Пољска, Италија, Шпанија, Ирска), коришћењем енглеског језика као језика комуникације и употребом дигиталних технологија.

AIMS

The objectives of this project are:

• to know the similarities and cultural differences between the partner countries

• deepen your knowledge of your European environment (the national anthems of the partner countries, the economic situation ...)

• Encourage students to take an interest in the inhabitants of a European country and get rid of stereotypes. Develop their sensitivity to cultural diversity and foster their openness.

• Give them a set of skills that enable them to use information and communication techniques.

• Develop their humanistic culture to develop a certain notion of identity

• Have them acquire geographical landmarks to prepare them to build their own European culture

• Improve their foreign language skills

• Increase their motivation to learn and practice the English language

WORK PROCESS
Step 1 – September
• Students will have to create their profiles on the Twinspace 
• Students will exchange messages on the Twinspace to get to know each other
• 1 student per class will present his/her class, school, country in the mother tongue in a short video that will posted on the Twinspace.
Step 2 – October / November
• Describing a typical week at school through a video, a slideshow, photo novel…
• The partner class reacts and makes comments on the Twinspace
• Scheduling a chat on Twinspace to communicate with other members 
Step 3 - December
• Each class will choose a blockbuster and will write a film review
• The partner class reacts and makes comments on the review
• Students will compare the prices of a series of things.
• Chat on Twinspace or videoconference to exchange about the prices
Step 4 – February / April
• Each school will send a postcard to the different partners.
• Presentation of a cultural aspect of their country

EXPECTED RESULTS

The participants will have long lasting friendship and they'll develop their language skills( English) and learn many things about other cultures 
They will also develop the use of technology devices
